Enthousiaste spanning! Enthusiastic excitement!

Wauw! Het begint nu dan echt "echt" te voelen. Een enthousiaste spanning is aanwezig. De eerste vaccinaties zijn gehaald en de heenreis is geboekt. Op donderdag 23 februari vlieg ik naar India. Eerste bestemming: Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India. Een heilige stad aan de voet van de Himalaya's en aan de Ganges rivier, waar ik in 2016 met Michiel al een week ben geweest. Dit eerste bezoek aan het indrukwekkende India smaakte naar meer!
De eerste maand zal ik in Rishikesh doorbrengen om satsangs met Sri Mooji bij te wonen. Het volgende filmpje op YouTube geeft hier een prachtig beeld van https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59T2TUr9390 . Voor diegene die nog wat meer willen weten over de satsangs met Sri Mooji in Rishikesh, deze documentaire van ongeveer een uurtje geeft het heel mooi weer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSBOjyGRO3I .
Waarom? En waarom nu? Heel praktisch gezien past het prachtig in m’n huidige werk situatie, met een tijdelijk contract. Naast het praktische aspect, ik weet het niet precies… maar het voelt heel natuurlijk en goed. En toch ook wel een beetje spannend nu! Ook het besef dat ik 5 maanden lang uit m’n comfortzone ben en ook niet hoef te werken, brengt het één en ander teweeg.
Na Rishikesh ligt het programma geheel open, en dan bedoel ik ook echt open! Waar het heen gaat, hoe ik reis en zelfs hoe lang ik in India blijf. Natuurlijk begin ik al wel wat ideeën te krijgen :-), maar pas in India kan ik inschatten of het mogelijk is en of ik het ook echt wil. En daarnaast, niets moet alles mag!! Staten in India die ik zou willen aandoen, liggen zo’n beetje verspreid over het hele land, en dat is 3000km van noord naar zuid, en ook van oost naar west… Daarnaast heb ik ook geen idee hoe ik het weer ga ervaren. Gedurende de tijd dat ik daar zit, kan het uiteindelijk 40 graden of warmer zijn en de moesson begint zo’n beetje in juli.
Trouwens, als je tips hebt voor wat betreft India, dan hoor ik die graag! De terugreis is dan ook nog niet geboekt, maar in augustus zal ik waarschijnlijk weer in Nederland zijn.

Wow! It really starts to feel “real” now. An enthusiastic excitement is present. I got my first shots and I have booked my flight to India. On Thursday the 23rd of February I’ll be flying to India. First stop: Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India. A holy city at the foothills of the Himalayas and on the Ganges river. I have been there already for about a week in 2016 together with Michiel. After that, I really felt I wanted to visit impressive India again!
I’ll be in Rishikesh for the first month to participate in satsang with Sri Mooji. The next movie on YouTube nicely illustrates this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59T2TUr9390 . For those of you that want to know a bit more about satsangs with Sri Mooji in Rishikesh, the following documentary of about an hour beautifully represents this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSBOjyGRO3I .
Why? And why now? From a practical point of view, it really fits in my current work situation, with a temporary contract. Besides the practical aspect, I am not totally sure… but it really feels natural and right. And now a bit exciting as well! I am also starting to realize that I’ll be out of my comfort zone for about 5 months and not working. This triggers several things.
After Rishikesh, the programme is totally open, and I really mean totally open! Where I go, how I travel and even how long I’ll stay in India. Of course I am getting some ideas now :-), but only in India I can see and feel if it is possible and something I do want to do. And besides that, I don’t have to do anything!! States in India that I would like to visit, are spread across the whole country, and that’s 3000 kilometres from North to South, and also from East to West… Besides that, I don’t know how I’ll experience the weather. During the time I’ll be there, it can get up to 40 degrees Celsius and higher and the rain season starts somewhere in July.
By the way, if you have any suggestions concerning India, please let me know! I did not book my flight back yet, but it is likely I’ll be back in the Netherlands by August.
